Health and Safety Advice and Guidance:

Health and Safety Executive (HSE) UK watchdog for work-related health, safety and illness. Carries out and reports on safety inspections and offers advice and guidance on health and safety at work.

Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations (RIDDOR)
Information about RIDDOR and how to report accidents, diseases and dangerous occurrences in England, Scotland and Wales to the HSE.

Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA)
Promoter of safety and accident prevention at work, leisure, on the road and in the home. Provider of safety advice and education.

British Safety Council 
A membership organisation providing information and guidance on health, safety and environmental issues.

National Construction Adviceline
A free advice line for the Construction Industry helping to address the issue of ill health, minimise the impact of worker illness, and provide essential support to workers with health issues.

Department of the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra)
A UK government department which includes policy making and legislation, environmental protection and pollution control.

European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA) 
The main EU reference point for safety and health at work.

National Examination Board in Occupational Safety & Health (NEBOSH)
Independent examining board and awarding body, offering qualifications in health, safety, environmental and risk management.

Institution of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH) 
The Chartered body for health and safety professionals. Lobbies governments on policy and law, accredits qualifications and provides guidance, resources and courses.

Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) 
The construction skills certificate scheme (CSCS), providing testing and certification of competence of construction workers and administration of the CSCS card.
